Fred Finishes Fourth, Giuliani and Huckabee tie for First

NASHVILLE - With the addition of Fred Thompson, nine Republican presidential candidates faced off again Tuesday in a debate at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and according the presentation experts Jeanette and Roy Henderson, the top contenders have not been threatened by the newcomer. "Given that this was his first debate, it wasn't bad," says Jeanette Henderson, "but it certainly didn't encroach on the front-runners."

Thompson's Report Card puts him fourth in the class, while once again Mick Huckabee put in a good performance, tying with Rudy Giuiani for first place. Mitt Romney finished third, as he has done consistently in every debate since June, according to the Hendersons. John McCain moved up, and Sam Brownback finished last. Here are the complete results of their presentation evaluations for that event:
#1 Rudy Giuliani 66 %
#1 Mike Huckabee 66 %
#3 Mitt Romney 61 %
#4 Fred Thompson 60 %
#5 Tom Tancredo 47 %
#6 John McCain 46 %
#7 Ron Paul 45 %
#8 Duncan Hunter 43.5 %
#9 Sam Brownback 40 %

Scores are based on twenty criteria in five different groups, including content, physicalization and vocalization. In addition, extra points can added or subtracted for things such as whether the presenter achieved what was necessary for the occasion, an excessive use of "pause-fillers" like ums and ya-knows, and when the presenter begins too many subjects with the word "I," which makes them appear too self-centered rather than audience-centered, a significant detraction.
